Community Activities
The team at James & Thomas Funeral Directors in Merrow are delighted to celebrate the achievement of their Funeral Director, Julie Brown, who took part in this year’s Nativity Festival at St John’s Church, Merrow.
Julie created her entire display by hand using recycled materials such as loo roll, cardboard, wool and felt, all sourced from local charity shops. Supporting the community is something she values deeply, and this project allowed her to give back in a creative and meaningful way.
Throughout the festival, many visitors stopped to congratulate her, including families she has supported over the years. The atmosphere was warm, festive and full of community spirit.
Julie was thrilled to be awarded first place in the Adult and Business category, receiving a certificate and a box of Celebrations. An impressive 79 people voted for her display, compared with 56 votes for the runner up, showing just how much her work resonated with the community.
The event was filled with carol singing, friendly faces and festive joy. The team at James & Thomas extend they’re thanks to Reverend Tim Clifford Hill for organising such a special community celebration.
Julie is already looking forward to next year’s creative challenge.
