Upon my father's passing, I popped in to do see Julie at James and Thomas funeral directors I didn't give her much notice for my appointment but she did her upmost to make me feel very welcome and she made me feel assured that my father service would be held with dignity and respect. I've got on very well with Julie, our personalities matched and she did a perfect job for me my family and my father. The funeral went without a hitch. She did a great job organising all of my demands and I would highly recommend her. It's only a shame that we met through such sad circumstances. Julie, thank you very much for everything you did. All your work was much appreciated.

I also got them to organise the headstone for the Grave. This part of the service is hugely disappointing. We didn't get what we showed them when we were in store. I myself was also promised a call back from them and didn't receive one.

I had never had to organise a cremation or funeral service before. I chose James & Thomas (Horsley in my case) based on positive reviews that I saw online. Chris was first class, helping me and my father to navigate the cremation process, order of service, Celebrant, coffin for my late mother etc... Chris was also very communicative from the first conversation to the day that Mum was finally laid to rest. On the day, Sam was also amazing and very reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend James & Thomas based on my and my father's experience. Thank you again.

James & Thomas and particularly Anne Rowe could not have been more helpful, caring, organised and efficient in arranging both of my parents funerals. Anne helped with all aspects of the funeral from start to finish and Sam and his team looked after us all on the day in a very professional and kind manner. The whole family very much appreciated the hard work and efforts put in to achieve this.

I cannot fault the service that I received from Anita and her team after my father's death. Her compassion and efficiency were a huge help and comfort at a very sad time.
Update - Nearly ten years on from my father’s funeral, we again used James and Thomas following the death of my mother. The personnel may have changed but the service that they provide remains exceptional. Julie was compassionate and empathetic to our needs while also dealing with every detail, whether large or small, with calm, unfussy efficiency. The team that helped her on the day of the funeral were superb as well. The death of a parent is a sad and stressful time so being able to rely on such exemplary care and professionalism is hugely helpful. Thank you, Julie and team - you were terrific.
