The gift of flowers for Mother’s Day

Throughout the week leading up to Mother’s Day the team from James and Thomas Funeral Directors in Guildford and Cobham visited two local care homes to present the female residents with a little gift.

Ladies at Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home and Claremont Court Care Home were gifted a colourful canvas bag of primroses and ladies at Cossins House Care Home and Springfield House Care Home received a pot plant in a colourful canvas bag.

These hand-delivered gifts are sure to become an annual treat for the Mothers and Grandmothers of these care homes, so much so that the team are already planning next year’s delivery which is sure to include even more recipients.

Funeral arranger Angela Collyer said: ‘We put all the plants on a trolley and went to every room to present the ladies with their plant. An extremely rewarding experience.’

Funeral arranger Liz Bayliss said: ‘The residents at the care homes were delighted with their Mother’s Day treats as it came as a nice surprise.  The carers welcomed us with open arms and commented on what a lovely idea it was, and are looking forward to next year’
